While Michele in the service department was helpful and professional, my overall experience with Honda of Bay County was extremely disappointing.
I brought my Honda Odyssey in for a routine oil change, and there were no issues with the vehicle at the time. After inspecting it, I was told the belt needed to be replaced, that there was fluid in the coolant related to the transmission, and that there could potentially be a serious engine problem. We contacted our warranty company, and they indicated that repairs would likely be covered. However, Honda told us that if they opened the engine and did not find a covered issue, we would be responsible for the labor costs as well as the cost of a new engine, which was estimated at around $8,000.
By that point, we had already spent approximately $2,500 on the belt replacement and other recommended services. The dealership then offered us a mere $7,000 trade-in value for our Odyssey, leaving us feeling pressured and frustrated. We were ultimately forced to rent a vehicle while trying to figure out our next steps.
What started as a simple oil change turned into a costly, stressful, and exhausting experience. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was one of the worst service experiences I have ever had. If zero stars were an option, that is what I would give.

Yesterday, I went for an oil change and during the inspection process they said they found an oil leak. I did find it to be odd as my vehicle is just over 100k. They would require a $99 diagnostic fee to further assess the leak, which I declined. They also sent me a photo of the "leak" that I didn't see until after I left. Upon reviewing the photo, I was alarmed at the amount of oil on the ground; there was quite a large puddle. If my car was leaking that much oil on a daily, the motor probably would have blown already.
So I took it to Pep Boys and without telling them anything aside from there's an oil leak can you diagnose it, they came back to say that it looks like whoever changed my oil last made a mess. They cleaned up the mess for me, and have found no signs of leakage.
I say this for women because we typically don't know a lot about cars, so you have to be careful with places/people like that who just look at your as an opportunity to add on services and take your money. I happen to know a little bit about oil leaks as I drive a car that's over 20 years old that has an oil leak and even that car doesn't leak the amount of oil that was shown to me in the photo. I'm curious to know what they would've "found" had I gone and approved the $99 diagnostic fee. This is exactly why I don't trust them to do anything more than what is truly necessary in that moment.
Very friendly and thorough in maintaince. Easy to deal with. I love the Honda cars due to great gas mileage, precise handling and great styling.

Dennis was exceptionally great with letting me know what was going on with my car. He notified me asap i needed a cabin filter.
My battery died on me. I called the dealership and got a hold of David and he told me they had a new battery in stock. When I arrived they got me right in and replaced my old battery and I was gone in less than one hour. Thank you

I asked him why he recommended this also & he started speaking before he even backed up to look again, pointing & saying how the “tread on these tires are more worn than the other’s tires”. I politely declined & let him know that my tires are only 4 months old & I just had them rotated from the place where I bought them. I know that a tire rotation code will always accompany an oil change code, so I found his personal recommendation to be dishonest & looking to just make a sale, as opposed to my tires actually looking the way he described & needing rotation.
I also was suggested to replace my cabin air filter, which I replaced myself after it was recommended at my last oil change at Honda. This tells me no one even looked at it, at all.
Before exiting my vehicle I asked if they had steering wheel covers to protect my cover from getting dirty. The first thing he did, without hesitation, was ask if it comes off. The cover is extremely hard to get on & off, which was my reply. Then he said he’d cover it. I was happy to see the cover still on, for myself, when I picked up my vehicle whether it was supposed to be left on for me to see on purpose or not. Andrew did walk me to my car & remove the cover before I got in.
At the end of my experience, Andrew gave me an emotional plea for a 5 star review. Instead of just asking for a review, he used language like, “I could be fired” and “to keep my job” and then ended with, “so if there’s any reason I didn’t earn a 5 star review, tell me now”. It felt like more of a demand and not a polite question.
Got just what I was looking for! Matthew was a pleasure to work with and Nicolas was professional and knowledgeable and very helpful getting me finished up with all the paperwork! I will recommend Honda of Bay County to my friends!
We had an issue with our 2015 Odyssey later in the day this past Thursday. From the minute we arrived at the reception area Dennis Quick was very efficient and friendly. We were having a recall service which was done very efficiently. They also preformed a maintenance check on the vehicle. When the vehicle was ready Dennis went over the report and explained everything. We are very satisfied with the results of the visit.

If this review was based on service alone, 4-5 stars easily. Service reps could act a bit more friendly but it is what it is, nothing super crazy. But spending $$$ there instead of a smaller shop I was expecting at least a rinse off of the vehicle. I’ve never been to a dealership and got my vehicle serviced and not gotten my car washed off in the process. Maybe I just didn’t realize how good I had it before! Next time I’ll save $$ on the service and go somewhere else pay for a wash myself
