Size—passenger room and cargo space—is the biggest difference between the Honda HR-V and the
Honda CR-V. The HR-V is categorized as subcompact, while the CR-V is considered a compact SUV,
making it the slightly larger vehicle.

The HR-V, spacious for its class, has seating for five people and a passenger volume of 96.1 to 100.1
cu ft depending on the trim level. Depending on whether you choose rear- wheel drive or all-wheel
drive, you’ll enjoy a cargo volume of either 58.8 or 57.6 cu ft (with the rear seat down).

Roomy for a compact SUV, the CR-V also seats 5 with 105.9 cu ft of passenger volume in the two
lower trims and 102.9 cu ft in the three higher trims. Total cargo volume for the CR-V is a
respectable 75.8 cu ft with the rear seat down, and with passengers seated in the rear seat, there’s
still 39.2 cu ft for all your gear.

There are four trims of the HR-V each equipped with a 141 hp, In-Line 4- cylinder engine and either
2WD or AWD—both with excellent fuel economy.

Five trims of the CR-V are powered by a 190 hp In-Line 4-Cylinder engine with turbocharger. The
top three trims offer the option of a hybrid engine. The standard engine offers great gas mileage, an
EPA-Estimated 27 city/34 hwy, and the hybrid is even better at an EPA-Estimated 40 city/35 hwy.
